چکیده

This study investigated effect of repeated exposure to low doses of diuron in gilthead sea bream by measuring the activities of the following antioxidant enzymes: Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione transferase (GST), and DT-diaphorase (DTD). Examination of the lipid peroxidation (malondialdehyde contentMDA) and glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) activity in these fish was also done. The results show that diuron exposure induces effects that are evident after 15 days of treatment. Almost all tissues are affected by treatment with diuron. MDA value of muscle and liver can be used as a biomarker of alterations in the oxidative state and therefore of the health of the fish.

Effect of ivermectin on the liver of gilthead sea bream Sparus aurata: a proteomic approach.

Gilthead sea bream Sparus aurata is the most commercialized Mediterranean aquacultured fish species. Ivermectin has recently (experimentally) started to be used to control ectoparasitic infestations in Mediterranean cultured marine fish. The potential hepatotoxicity of ivermectin was investigated in gilthead sea bream juveniles (35g) following oral administration at the recommended dose of 0.2 ...

In this study, 50 000 European seabass and 50 000 gilthead seabream with an average wet weight of 1.6 g were cultivated during 600 days under low water salinity conditions (7‰) of which getting out from underground at fixed 19°C, being produced in earthen ponds under commercial production conditions. From the beginning to the end of the experiment, the same fish feeds were used for both species...

Whole-Genome Sequence of the Fish Virulent Strain Streptococcus iniae IUSA-1, Isolated from Gilthead Sea Bream (Sparus aurata) and Red Porgy (Pagrus pagrus)

Streptococcus iniae is a major fish pathogen that produces invasive infections that result in economic losses in aquaculture. In this study, the draft genome sequence of Streptococcus iniae strain IUSA-1, isolated from a natural outbreak affecting gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) and red porgy (Pagrus pagrus), is presented.

Draft Genome Sequences of Vibrio renopiscarius Strains CECT 8603T and CECT 8604, Two Marine Gammaproteobacteria Isolated from Cultured Gilthead Sea Bream (Sparus aurata)

Vibrio renopiscarius DCR 1-4-2(T) (CECT 8603(T)) and DCR 1-4-12 (CECT 8604) were isolated from healthy gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) from Mediterranean fish farms (Castellón, Spain). Their draft genome sequences (30 and 44 contigs, respectively) have 4.3 Mbp and a G+C content of 45.2 mol% and contain almost 3,700 protein-encoding genes.
